Maui Coast Hotel was an ideal base in Kihei! It was centrally located right across the street from Kamaole I Beach, and while I wouldn't necessarily recommend staying anywhere in Kihei without a car, there were definitely places to eat and hang in walkable distance in both directions, and the hotel also offered a complementary shuttle service within a 3-mile radius. For those with cars, the plentiful free parking was a nice contrast vs the predatory parking fees at the Wailea resorts.

This is a lovely place to stay with wonderful service. Breakfast is extra, parking is extra and late checkout is extra. All seem excessive in a room over $800 a night. The bed was not very comfortable. View of ocean from the room butalmostno beach. Food was not worth the. Price and would recommend going off property to eat.

The location and ocean were nice. It was very quiet except for the sounds of the ocean and you didn't know if guests were next door or in the hall. The towels, yes the towels, were very absorbant and soaked up the water on your skin. (Important factor for me) Room size was smaller than expected but I didnt go there to stay in the hotel and the beds were comfortable. Spa services were amazing. Parking was simple. Very organized and efficient. Had one concern and it was handled swiftly. I...

I don’t know what isn’t too like. Everything about this place screams cute and quaint. Just perfect for the garden isle. I read someone on another review complain about the chickens… if you don’t like the chickens then go to another island because they are everywhere! Beautiful stay

We had an awesome stay. We did not realize how big this resort was. I would definitely stay at Kingsland again. It offers easy parking. And it is nice and quiet where we stayed. And we had access to any other part of the resort. So it allowed us to be away from the main building, where the beach and luau were located. Because there are a lot of people staying at that location. So where we stayed, it was nice and relaxing. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere within their resort. They...

The room was clean and spacious, as was the bathroom. The hotel staff were professional, courteous, and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was the best hotel breakfast I have had in years, with rotating options, an omelet bar, and fresh cut pineapple. It was an all around 5 star stay.

Great location close to the beach. Great price for the area and quality. Wonderful breakfast each day. Only suggestion would be to work on the drainage for the AC units. The condensation drops from the above unit onto the unit in the room making a constant dripping noise. Great place overall.

I like that this property is so close to the beach and shopping area. The gym and laundry facilities located on the same floor was convenient. I was able to work out while waiting for the laundry to be done. The manager’s reception with live music and the breakfast with miso soup daily sweet fresh pineapple were really enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was nice and clean. The bed was so comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.

Very intimate, we had the partial ocean view just steps away from the beach. Room was very clean, had everything you need stocked in the kitchen for cooking. Rooms have no air but ceiling fans and leaving windows open cool down the room and not to mention hearing the ocean waves are at night is so calming. Pool has bbqs and is awesome at night with the tiki torches lit. Thursday night they had a pool party free Maui Tais and a live singer. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. They provide beach...

For not being a beachfront hotel this place is beautifully located in Wailea with AMAZING views, made me forget it wasn't on the beach. That being said we were close enough to the beach that it didn't even matter. The hotel provided a shuttle to wherever we wanted to go within a three mile radius which was super convenient. The staff at the hotel provided a warm aloha welcome including a shell lei. The shuttle drivers were very polite, opening doors, helping with bags and answering any questions...

I loved the staff and environment, I always go for a boutique style hotel to support the small businesses and I thought it was amazing. And a really good price also. To whoever is in these reviews saying they wanted it to be more resort like and BS like that should have booked at a resort if they wanted all the perks. I would just say everyone should stay here when going to Oahu because the staff where so excellent.

Weekend getaways in Hawaii are a popular short-break option for couples, solo travelers, and groups of friends looking to relax, explore, or enjoy a change of scenery without extensive planning. Couples can enjoy relaxed experiences such as dining, scenic walks, or cultural activities, while solo travelers can explore flexible itineraries that balance sightseeing and downtime. If its a group trip, explore social, entertainment-focused experiences that fit into a short trip. Weekend travel generally peaks on Friday and Saturday nights, with a slightly quieter pace on Sundays, making it an ideal window for quick, refreshing breaks.
Reasons to book a Weekend Getaway in Hawaii
Weekend getaways in Hawaii are a popular short-break option that offer a simple way to recharge, break from routine, and make the most of limited time, providing the chance to experience a new place without needing extended time off work or other commitments.
Where to stay in Hawaii
For a 2–3 day stay in Hawaii, the best areas are usually those that keep you close to key attractions and transport links so you can make the most of a short visit. Central neighborhoods are ideal for easy access to landmarks, dining, and nightlife, while waterfront or scenic districts offer a more relaxed break with memorable views. Well-connected areas near major train stations or airports are also practical choices, making it simple to move around efficiently without wasting time on travel.
Different neighborhoods can also suit different travel styles. Central and entertainment-focused areas often work well for couples looking for a mix of dining and a lively center, while solo travelers may prefer well-connected districts that offer convenience and flexibility. Group travelers often benefit from busy areas with plenty of entertainment, shared activities, and larger hotel options. Choosing the right neighborhood in Hawaii helps balance convenience, comfort, and experience for a well-rounded short stay.
Top amenities for a weekend stay in Hawaii
When choosing a weekend stay in Hawaii on EasyTrip, look for essentials like fast Wi-Fi, flexible check-in and check-out, and easy transport access to help you make the most of a short trip, along with comfortable bedding, climate control, and quiet rooms for proper rest between plans. Added conveniences such as on-site dining, breakfast options, and 24-hour reception can streamline your stay, while features like gyms, spas, or pools add extra value for a more relaxing break. Flexible cancellation is also helpful for keeping your weekend plans stress-free and adaptable, making it easier to enjoy a smooth, well-paced stay in Hawaii.
Best hotel types for Weekend Getaways in Hawaii
Central hotels and boutique hotels are popular choices for weekend getaways in Hawaii, offering easy access to attractions, dining, and local experiences. City hotels in well-connected areas are ideal for convenience, with transport links that make it easy to get around. For a more relaxed pace, residential or quieter neighborhoods provide a calmer stay while still keeping the city within easy reach. Full-service hotels are also a strong option for groups, with flexible room setups and amenities that support shared, short stays.
Best time to go for a Weekend Getaway in Hawaii
The best time for a weekend getaway in Hawaii is usually during shoulder seasons, when weather conditions are pleasant and areas are less filled with tourists, creating a more relaxed travel experience. Weekends outside major holidays and local events also tend to offer a better balance of availability and comfort, making it easier to enjoy the destination at a comfortable pace.
In terms of booking, confirming a stay a few weeks in advance often provides the best choice of hotels and locations, while more flexible travelers may still find good options closer to the weekend during quieter periods. Friday and Saturday nights are typically the most popular, so planning around slightly less busy weekends or adding a Sunday night can sometimes improve both value and availability.
Tips to save on a weekend getaway in Hawaii
Travel during quieter weekends Choosing weekends outside major holidays, events, or peak travel periods in Hawaii can often lead to better rates and more availability across a wider range of hotels.
Stay slightly outside the main areas Hotels in well-connected but less central neighborhoods are often more affordable, while still keeping attractions and dining within easy reach.
Be flexible with hotel type and room choice Opting for standard rooms or business and city hotels instead of premium or boutique stays can help reduce costs without sacrificing comfort.
Compare package deals for better value Weekend getaway packages that bundle hotel stays with flights can often provide better overall value than booking each element separately.
